Supporting Dr. Steger

It’s our opinion that Dr. Steger did a very good job providing a dignified face for the University under the circumstances of last week. Many of the media and the finger-pointers out there were asking for his dismissal.

It’s easy for the press and the spectators to sit in their comfy chairs or stand in front of video cameras, badmouthing the university president and criticizing his actions. But we’d bet that very few — if any — of those who would offer such criticism could have done any better. And we thumb our noses at those who would suggest that Dr. Steger and Chief Flinchum are to blame for last week’s tragedy.
