I love the smell of gunpowder on a Saturday afternoon.

Yup, it’s official: I smell a little funky right now.
Thanks to the Floyd County Coon Hunters Association and members of a local church, I spent this afternoon knocking down clay pigeons. It’s been too long since I got to do any skeet shooting, and today’s event was a great chance to get back into it. The official event was called off due to a rainy forecast, but about 16 people showed up anyway. So we shot. The predicted rain did not come, though the clouds helped keep things cool and not overly bright. A couple of the ladies made chili and brownies, and those were delicious.
Met some nice people, had a great time. And proved I need more practice. Hitting about 60-70% today… not enough. Now I’ve got a shotgun to go scrub.
